Metropolia Charity is planning a Christmas fundraising event with the main goal to give toys to children in need at Christmas time. The event is planned to take place on Monday the 29th of November in Myyrmäki from 09:00-15:00.
Before we review the Christmas event lets look back at the last event. Back in September Metropolia Charity took part in Red Cross Hunger Day and raised over 1,000 Euro (estimate). The volunteers of this event will be presented with a Metropolia volunteer certificate by the Director of International Degree Programmes Marko Korkeakoski on the same day as the Christmas event. Some pics of our great volunteers below, we really appreciate their help.
The final preparations are being made for the event so please keep an eye on this post and Metropolia Charity Facebook site for updates. The main event is to request students and staff to bring a new* toy for a child on the day of the event and our partner Joulupuu will distribute the toys to children in need.
Toys will be placed under the Christmas tree on the day of the event.
The toy for a child has certain requirments such as being a new toy or of good condition and in a box. *Please view the order form below for all the requirments.
As part of the main event the following will be organised:
Christmas Santa Sale
We will be selling Christmas Santas with profit going toward buying toys.
Professional photograph opportunity
Professional Photos €10 individual/€15 group with digital copies (all money goes toward purchasing toys). Normally professional photos would cost €200. We need more than 10 people/groups to make it worthwhile. Marko Korkeakoski will take the photographs. Marko is a professional photographer and will have full professional equipment on the day including studio lighting
You can have the possibility to order posters size pictures that also fit nicely into Ikea Frames with the profit from the sale going to charity.
We would like to know demand for all the above ideas/products, so please fill in the order form if you plan to purchase an item or wish to see the toy requirements. ORDER FORM
Great blog you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics talked about here?
I’d really love to be a part of online community where I can get feed-back from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!
