Explore Opportunities at AIESEC

Founded after the Second World War in 1948, AIESEC remains the world’s largest student organization led by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education with presence in 110 countries and in all continents. It was established as an attempt to help develop friendly relations between member countries and prevent a third world war. AIESEC’s overall vision to date remains “Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential”.

AIESEC’s strong network of more than 50,000 members in 1700 universities worldwide enables it to provide 8,500 international internship opportunities, over 9,000 leadership positions, and more than 470 conferences for its members worldwide. The network is a platform for its members to develop and practice skills in project management, lead a local committee or a team with a focus on member education, corporate relations, communications, finances or coordinating exchange programs. Most importantly members can apply for AIESEC’s Work Abroad program which is made possible by its engagement with thousands of partner organizations worldwide.

Finland is one of the founding members of AESEC. Today AIESEC in Finland links over 300 members at 20 universities and higher education institutions in 6 different cities and 50 partner organizations. It provides more than 70 internship opportunities for Finnish members who want to go abroad and foreign members coming to Finland.

At the moment the Work Abroad program application is open and will be closed at 23:59 on 15 February 2011. The application form and more information can be found by clicking here.

This year AIESEC has started globally implementing a five year ambition called AIESEC 2015. AIESEC Finland will use findings from a market research as an input for the implementation of the five year plan.

Part of the market research will be conducted by students of Metropolia Business School as part of a Marketing Research course supervised by the lecturer William Simcoe. The topic has already been presented by Heini Kärkkäinen, president of AIESEC Finland.

Metropolia Blog wants to invite you to make the most out of the opportunities AIESEC offers and cooperate in the survey when it is launched.
