Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington – Brené Brown Endowed Chair. Brené has spent the last two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. Her speech at Nordic Business Forum Helsinki 2019 will be about the courage to lead (Brene Brown© 2019).
Brené is the author of a series of #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, etc. Her most recent book was released in October 2018, and it made a culmination of a seven-year study on the future of leadership. Brené believes that you have to walk through vulnerability to get to courage, therefore, her advice is to be ready to embrace the suck. As Brené says herself: “There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period.”(Brene Brown© 2019)
Brené Brown’s TED talk ”The Power of Vulnerability” is one of the top five most viewed TED talks in the world with over 35 million views (TED talks 2011). She is also the first researcher to have a filmed talk on Netflix ”The Call to Courage”. It made a special debuted on the streaming service on 19th April, 2019 (NBF 2019).
At Nordic Business Forum 2019, Brené will address a question faced by leaders from all areas of business: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? Her answer will draw from twenty years of research, including the past seven spent studying leadership (NBF 2019).
