Hi! My name is Bantegize, and I am a third-year IBL student at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. I will share with you the reason why I choose Business Studies and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in brief.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Gondar in Ethiopia. Following graduation from the University of Gondar, I worked in Finance and Economic Development Office as a Database Administrator. I have been involved in a wide range of tasks other than Database administration such as payrolling, customer services, doing a monthly financial report, and making a spreadsheet. These tasks and the Mathematical knowledge I gained from my home University make me eager to study Accounting and Finance in Finland.

I know that every class I take and every skill I learn will enable me to achieve my dream. My dream is to be a professional accountant or financial analyst. Then I start the journey to accomplish my dream and Metropolia’s IBL degree program was my first choice to specialize in Finance. When I was applying for the IBL degree program in 2019, Finance was one of the four specialization options.

In autumn 2019, I got the study place in IBL at Metropolia UAS. As I expected, I am gaining skills and experiences from the Business School that will propel my short and long-term goals. I am developing an experiential and diverse learning experience and having the opportunity to interact with different groups of people to learn from their business insights and endeavors. From Metropolia Business School, I am having the tools and resources needed to further my accounting and finance knowledge and perform professional financial analyses. I will take the main specialization course, which is Finance, in spring 2022.

The high reputation of Metropolia UAS in IBL and the deeper theoretical and practical knowledge I gain from the course will help me to achieve the career that I have set for myself in this particular field. As Metropolia UAS is well-known for its degree program courses, I strongly recommend anyone to apply to any degree program given by Finland’s largest UAS.
